About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with expertise in Mastercam programming to join our team. As a CNC Machinist at our manufacturing company specializing in high precision motion picture and television equipment, you will play a vital role in producing components that meet our rigorous quality standards. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in operating CNC machines and a strong background in programming using Mastercam software.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to perform precision machining of components according to specifications.

  • Review engineering drawings, blueprints, or models to determine the machining process and requirements.

  • Program CNC machines using Mastercam software to generate tool paths and optimize machining operations.

  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each machining job.

  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure their optimal performance.

  • Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency. Conduct thorough inspections of finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify compliance with specifications.

  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to machining or programming.

  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Keep accurate records of production data, including job times, quantities produced, and any issues encountered.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certifications or vocational training in machining is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment, preferably working with high precision components.

  • Proficiency in programming CNC machines using Mastercam software, including creating tool paths and optimizing machining operations.   

  • Strong understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, and materials.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, or models.

  • Experience with setting up and adjusting CNC machines for optimal performance.

  • Proficient in using precision measuring instruments to inspect finished parts.

  • Good troubleshooting skills and ability to solve problems related to machining and programming.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.      

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • General knowledge of cutting tools and metals.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
